Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United States. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she resigned from the business. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank until today. As of February 2020 she had signed 53 deals. The largest of these was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class located in Edgewater, New Jersey.  Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes relied on free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father being an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran who was in the process of failing numerous classes in her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
