Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously been a part of the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson of the Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki contributed to CNN's political coverage from 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her professional career in 2001 when she worked on the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki then was appointed the the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki worked as the communications director to Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned in 2012 for political communication and was the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 election campaign. [20] Psaki was named as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. The speculations that she would be replacing Jay Carney White House Press secretary when he left White House in the year 21 were fuelled by her hire by the Department of State. However, Josh Earnest was announced as Carney's replacement on May 30, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to be the director of communications. She was with the Obama administration until its end.
